Stone Island Prototype Research_Series are limited editions native: garments made with fabrics and/or treatments resulting from research and experimentation not yet industrialized.

The experimental material of Series_08, born from the collaboration between Stone Island and three industrial partners from the automotive, nautical, and sports sectors, is made from a multi-axial linen textile base with subsequent needle-punching to a non-woven fabric, inkjet printing, and double lamination of aliphatic polyurethane film.

The 100 print graphics – one for each piece – reassemble into a large fresco, an organic and dreamlike landscape that evokes a primordial world. The design of the cape is inspired by the very first Stone Island collection from 1982 – a functional reference to a military garment that could evolve into a tent.

Prototype Research_Series 08 will be presented from April 15 to 21 at the Stone Island showroom in Milan during Milan Design Week 2024 with the installation Multiaxial Project: an immersive journey that aims to immerse visitors in the depth of thought, experimentation, and artistic expression that led to the creation of the eighth edition.
